New York, New York is the most populated city in the USA, and is world renown for its incredible influence on the press, theater, financials (Wall street), fashion, arts, and of course entertainment. New York has its largest influence on theater. Every theater actor's dream is to make it to Broadway. Broadway refers to the 40 professional theatres within the Theatre District of New York, which is centered by the one and only Broadway (the street). Some of the best theaters in Broadway include: Eugene O'Neil Theater, Foxwoods Theater, Gershwin Theater, Imperial Theater, Majestic Theater, Palace Theater, and Winter Garden Theater. But New York has also always been a major player in the music scene, always setting the latest trends for the rest of the world to follow. In fact it is said to be the birthplace of disco, hip-hop, punk rock, and salsa. New York has almost always been the center of the hip-hop scene, especially during the 1990s, with a plethora of famous artists coming from there that include: Notorious B.I.G., Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-tang Clan, and Jay-Z. New York is home to some of the most famous music venues in the world, like: Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, NOKIA Theater, Rockwood Music Hall, Madison Square Garden (also the home of the Knicks and Rangers), and Joe's Pub. Located at 881 Seventh Ave., Carnegie Hall is one of the most famous music venues in the world and has seen some of the greatest artists ever perform. Madison Square Garden is the third busiest arena in the world as far as music ticket sales go, on top of being home to two professional sports teams, the Knicks and Rangers. It can hold a maximum 20,000 people for a concert and 19,763 for a basketball game. As the most populated city in the United States, New York has found itself with two teams for every major sport. In baseball they have the Mets and Yankees. Both teams play in their own ball park, the Mets have Citi field in Queens while the Yankees have the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The Yankees are easily the most decorated franchise in the history of the MLB with 27 World Series titles. As far as football goes, New York has both the Giants and the Jets. Both teams play their home games at the brand new Metlife Stadium located in East Rutherford, N.J. The Giants just won the Super Bowl this season for the fourth time in their team history. The NBA has both the New York Knicks and the just moved Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks are the only one of the two to win an NBA championship and it came back in 1979. The Nets will play in the Barclays Center which will be complete in September.
